Oboe Studio Events

Oboe Master Class

    Annual classes with distinguished guest artists are offered at Cranbrook School. Oboists in the community are invited to attend.

Classes have been given by:

  • Danna Sundet, Oboe Professor at Kent State University and Director of the John Mack Oboe Camp – “Continuing the Legacy of John Mack”
  • Donald Baker, Principal Oboist of the Detroit Symphony – Mozart Birthday Celebration
  • Daniel Stolper, Oboe Instructor at Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Camp
  • Joan Berndt, long-time MSBOA Solo & Ensemble adjudicator
  • Nancy Ambrose King, Oboe Professor, University of Michigan and President, International Double Reed Society

Spring Oboe Recital

    Held annually in Kingswood Auditorium
    All students perform solo pieces accompanied by piano. Graduating seniors are featured in their own ensemble. The grand finale is a performance by the all-studio ensemble. All students are recognized for their hard work during the year. Family and friends are invited to join the reception following the recital.

    In December with music, refreshments and holiday cheer!
